Paulding County History Museum Newsletter, October-November-December 2024
This issue announces the organization’s rebranding from John Paulding Historical Society to Paulding County History Museum — explicitly to reduce confusion with the county’s Revolutionary War namesake, since (as the newsletter notes) John Paulding “never set foot in Ohio, and he never owned land here.” It also covers the Festival of Trees, a Canal Society of Indiana tour of the county’s canal sites, the 23rd annual ATHS Vintage Truck Show, and an Ohio Historical Marker awarded for New Rochester, the county’s first county seat.
A substantial historical reprint has been transcribed as its own entry in this archive:
- “A Visit to Cecil in 1886” — “Cecil Chimes,” from the Paulding Democrat, April 8, 1886
