Historical Collections of Ohio, Vol. II (Henry Howe, Centennial Edition, 1907)
Henry Howe’s Historical Collections of Ohio is one of the best-known 19th/early-20th-century reference works on Ohio history — a county-by-county encyclopedia first researched by Howe on an 1846-47 tour of the state, then substantially revised and expanded after a second tour in 1886-90. This Centennial Edition (1907, two volumes) includes a Paulding County chapter, along with roughly 700 engravings statewide.
It’s long since entered the public domain and is freely readable at the Internet Archive. This entry links to the whole book rather than reproducing it. The Paulding County chapter begins around page 374 (confirmed from a locally-produced excerpt booklet, reprinting just that chapter — see Paulding County Ohio (Howe Excerpt) for the actual text, since the original 1907 volume is public domain).
