Visions of Paulding County, Volume 1 (2000)
A 1926 letter, a 1976 canal-town profile, and a whole run of 1990s local newspaper features — this compilation gathers previously published Paulding County Progress historical articles into one $2 booklet, “so that once an article has been published, it doesn’t become next to impossible to retrieve,” in editor Melinda Krick’s words. It was intended as the first in an ongoing series (Volume 2 was planned for January 2001).
Several individual articles have been transcribed as their own entries in this archive:
- “Story of the Woods” (Lewis Beck, 1926)
- “Buchman Traces County Indians” (1993) — see also the Indigenous Peoples of Paulding County entry it substantially expands
- “Junction: The Canals Giveth and the Canals Taketh” (1976)
- “Hudson House Lives Again” (1996)
- “In the ‘Clink’: The Former Latty Jail” (1997)
- “Tile Mills: Another Page of County History” (1977)
- “Clark Cemetery Holds Many Secrets” (1996)
- “Paulding County Pedigree: Black Salts” (1998)
- “Paulding County Newspaper Reminiscences II” (1998 and undated)
