An index of 54 historical markers and monuments across Paulding County,
compiled from the Historical Marker Database (HMdb.org). Each entry links
to that marker’s full HMdb.org page for complete text, photographs, and
directions.
Three markers are reported missing: the 1930 “Charloe” and “Fort
Brown” markers on the Ohio Revolutionary Memorial Trail, and the 2020
“Reservoir War” marker near Antwerp. Their listings are kept here as a
record of what once stood, and in case anyone can confirm their current
status or location. For a full-length account of the Reservoir War
itself, see
The Reservoir War by Jerett W. Godeke.

The undated “Charloe (Oquanoxa’s Village, on the Auglaize River)” marker
above was likely dedicated May 27, 1962 — see the marker-dedication
program reproduced in
Charloe: “A Village by a Stream”
— though this isn’t fully confirmed.

Several of these markers point to subjects already documented elsewhere
in this archive — Fort Brown and the Reservoir War appear in the county
engineer’s history overview,
and New Rochester and the canals appear throughout the
1882 Historical Hand-Atlas
and 1892 Atlas canal excerpt.
Anyone able to visit and photograph these markers would be adding real
primary-source value to those entries.
